A quarter century ago, he was a street singing punk/rocker in England. Today, BILLY BRAGG is referred to as the Bard of Barking by the press for his consistency in pushing for reform via his music and writings. He's had his hit singles, Top 10 albums, and sold out shows featuring his take on traditional British and American folk songs. The Woody Guthrie estate even selected Billy to edit lyrics and apply music to the late legend's unpublished songs which culminated Mermaid Ave. (Vols. 1 & 2), a two-album collaboration with US indie rock group Wilco. In 2007, his commissioned re-do of Beethoven's Ode To Joy was requested by none other than Her Majesty the Queen. Billy Bragg's new album, his 11th, is called Mr. Love & Justice, featuring his band The Blokes and Ian McLagan of Small Faces and Faces fame.
